Shade's active-effect stacks with the Force Enhancement passive-effect for big damage on its Wrath power. dodge-counters, charged attacks, and its Wrath power). It's a slow weapon, so other than breaking a mob's guard mid-combo, you're mainly using this for Arcane attacks (i.e. But I always switch to Chaos for Crucible runs (its dodge-counters and charged Arcane attacks are really good for quickly regenerating health, better than any other weapon. Storm is the only Crucible vendor Enhancement I like on an activated weapon, because its active-effect actually adds quite a bit of secondary damage to nearby mobs on dodge-counters.
Polearm (KotV): Chaos or Storm or Fortifier. If you put Fafnir on this instead, don't forget to put Fortifier on something else - you gotta have that passive HP boost in Apoc. Flame Hollow benefits well from both Physical and Arcane damage boost. Veneration is AWESOME in the Crucible, but not good in the story campaign because you're not killing mobs often enough to keep the passive-effect boosted. Choose Chaos if having active health regen is more important to you. Many people like Fafnir on the Talons/Chains, but I think it's a little bit more useful on the Whip since I change Hollows a lot this way Fafnir is always helping me deal damage in every fight / situation. Here's my standard setup for the story-campaign: Havoc form can't dodge-counter ofc, but it can quickstep around to avoid some damage, and the jump up and slam down attack is good when surrounded by lesser mobs. Havoc form lasts MUCH longer in Apoc if you're not face-tanking hits! Taking hits from mobs in Havoc form drastically depletes the timer. A lot of players forget about it once they get their Hollow powers. The trusty whip has the game's best combos (the X, delay, X, X, X is very useful, and of course the hold X crowd-control combo), and don't forget to use its Wrath power when appropriate! Especially with Fafnir on it, it does the best one-hit damage in the game, good for quickly clearing rooms of lesser mobs and hurting tougher mobs severely. Abyssal has passive Wrath regen), and dodge-counters (which generate a Wrath lurcher), you should be able to use Wrath powers much more frequently in the NG pluses, and that's good because you probably need to. Use those Wrath powers! Between the fully upgraded talisman (the one from rescuing humans it boosts Wrath lurchers), Enhancement passive-effects, Armor passive-effects (e.g. So you're gonna need a bit less than 200k souls collected at all times. Fafnir was nerfed, but +40% damage to both physical and arcane is still the best active-effect Enhancement in the game. And if you want to use Havoc form effectively on Apoc, you have to have the Chaos Enhancment on something for its passive-effect. But with the four additional weapons the KotV grants, it's not hard to find a spot for the Obscurus on a non-active weapon to get its passive-effect. Evade window boost is also highly recommended (Obscurus), obviously, although if you get really skilled at dodge-counters you may be able to get away with not using it. You must have the damage reduction passives (Juggernaut, Shade) and the health boost (Fortifier). Enhancement setup is extremely important in Apoc difficulty. And don't sleep on the Enhancements sold by the Crucible vendor - they have VERY POWERFUL passive-effect boosts to the Hollow powers. not just because they have subtle advantages in their movesets and dodge-counter animations, but because they allow Fury to have four more passive-effect Enhancement benefits! Incredibly valuable. The Keepers of the Void alternate weapons are a must.
#Chaos or fury which does more dmg upgrade#
Grind Crucible to get the upgrade materials, or just use Cheat Engine (I don't judge not everyone has time to spend hours and hours doing tens of Crucible 1 to 101 runs). By Apoc Armageddon 2, you need to have Balanced Enhancements.
If you don't master dodge-counters, Apoc and Armageddon just ain't for you. It needs to be a religious input in almost every fight. Panoply can be good too, but you'd need to be using Wrath powers and Havoc form very religiously. Speaking of armor, I think Abyssal (KotV DLC) is the best armor for its dual physical and arcane damage boosts, Wrath regeneration, and convenient passive health regen, but more mistake prone players may prefer Chaos Bringer or perhaps the Base armor once it's upgraded enough. Leveling your stats has diminishing returns as you go up, so to remain powerful enough for Apocalyptic as you go up Armageddon levels, armor upgrades via Oblivion ore are very important - they become the best way to keep your damage dealing potent.
